Former Delta State Governor's media aide, Ossai Success Ovie, has criticised the wedding of popular TikTok couple Peller and Jarvis, describing it as overrated, overhyped and ultimately disappointing.
In a post shared on Instagram, Ossai said he had followed the event closely and, despite receiving an invitation, was unable to attend because of other engagements. However, based on what he saw online, he said the ceremony fell far short of expectations.
"The Peller and Jarvis wedding was overrated and over hyped," he wrote.
According to him, the massive publicity leading up to the event created expectations of a grand, unforgettable ceremony, but the reality did not match the hype.
"There was too much noise ahead of the wedding, and after getting my invitation, I was hoping it would be a classic. But my hope was dashed," he stated.
Ossai described the overall arrangement as underwhelming, saying the décor, setup and atmosphere looked like an ordinary influencer wedding rather than the "historic classic" many had anticipated.
"When you promise cinema and deliver a YouTube vlog, people will be disappointed," he said.
He also pointed to reports of crowd control issues, delayed arrivals and a chaotic entrance, adding that the event's logistics appeared rushed despite the extensive promotion.
According to him, the build-up focused more on drama, publicity stunts and clout than on the marriage itself.
"It became about the Peller and Jarvis brand instead of the marriage," he wrote.
While wishing the couple well, Ossai urged them to prioritise building their marriage over their public image.
"They're still young though. I hope they learn and focus more on building the marriage than the brand," he concluded.
